Medina UMC is a friendly place where God and People matter. The church
is many things, but most people here describe it as a family.
Activities:
Whatever your style of WORSHIP... we have a place for
you. Our morning worship service is a blended service of both the old and
the new. We have a very dynamic and talented Choir as well as Gospel
Group. Get ready for a dynamic, upbeat worship service!
We also have a well staffed nursery
for all services!
Our Sunday School has something for every age.
Vacation Bible School
Prayer Ministry: There are many dimensions to
our prayer ministry. We have various groups who meet regularly to pray.
W also have a 24 hour prayer room complete with its own separate thermostat
controls and combination lock. See Pastor for details.
We also have a very active and dynamic
Prayer Chain via email and phone. Our latest addition is our
Prayer/Informational BLOG which is both informative and interactive.
Participants can post their own prayer request or give answers to prayers.
United Methodist Women: The United Methodist
Women have a very active and important role in the ministry of Medina UMC.
The members of UMW coordinate bereavement meals as well as sponsor wedding and
baby showers. They also sponsor a yearly Bazaar. They actively seek
to study and grow spiritually with their monthly meetings. (They normally meet
the third Wednesday at 2:00)
United Methodist Men (Promise Keeper Group): The
Men's Group is an ecumenical movement of men from several different churches
that meet every Thursday at 7:00 AM at Medina UMC. There is also another
men's group made up of a lot of the same members who want more of a study time.
They meet Monday Mornings.
Emmaus Walk: The Walk to Emmaus is a
spiritual renewal program intended to strengthen the local church through the
development of Christian disciples and leaders. The program's approach seriously
considers the model of Christ's servanthood and encourages Christ's disciples to
act in ways appropriate to being "a servant of all."
Missionary Ministry:
In addition to sponsoring two separate United Methodist
Missionaries, Medina United Methodist Church usually is involved in at least one
outside missionary project a year. We are also involved in multiple local
missionary acts throughout the
year.
Covered Dish Fellowship:
Come and enjoy fellowship every fourth Sunday
after the morning service.
Youth Group:
We have a dynamic YOUTH GROUP that call themselves VERITAS which is Latin
for TRUTH. In fact, some of your old Bibles use the term, “Verily, Verily I say
to you,” meaning, “Truly, Truly I say to you.” The Youth Group is blessed to
be led by Josh and Nan Hargett from Deer Creek Camp and meet on Wednesday’s at
5:30 PM.
Medina UMC owns the only little league baseball field and sponsors the Little League
association by allowing them to use our baseball field and hold their meetings
at the church!
We also sponsor a very active Boy Scout Troop!
