Something For Everyone
This organization is a community outreach program located in the cottage at the Medina United Methodist Church and managed by Nancy Wojnowski.
Our mission is to serve the needs of children and families in the Medina community with an unconditional, agape love. C.S. Lewis, in his book “The Four Loves”, used agape to describe what he believed was the highest level of love known to humanity – a selfless love, a love that was passionately committed to the well-being of others.
The Agape Offerings was established to help those in need living in Medina. The teachers at Medina ISD and the staff have been and still are a wonderful conduit to the needs of the children. In that regard I believe we have been successful in providing immediate needs such as shoes, jackets, clothing, etc.
Additionally, Agape Offerings helps families with holiday dinners and Christmas gifts.
The Thrifty Agape Store was born when you all opened your hearts, closets and in some cases wallets. We have been so blessed in receiving donations of clothing, shoes, books, etc. that the Thrift Store was opened. We accepting donations of small appliance, household items and furniture also.
The Thrift Store is now located in the Cottage on the church property and is open “every Saturday” from 10 AM to 2 PM.
If you know of a friend, relative, or neighbor in need, please let me know. The Thrifty Agape Store will be opened for that purpose on any day of the week. At this time Michael & I have cut stacked fire wood which is available to those in need.
And lastly, as always, volunteers are needed to help sort clothing and helping out on Saturdays anytime between 10:00 and 2:00.
